Mike Villamañe obtained the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU in 2017 where he has been faculty member since 2003. His research, developed within the GaLan and Adian research groups, focuses on the field of educational computing, particularly on the use of technology to enhance learning and assessment processes. He has published over 30 works on topics such as learning analytics, complex assessment scenarios or active and cooperative methodologies.
